Looking to contact researcher in DC…

Hi:

I was wondering if anyone knows if Michael Anderson is still researching in Washington DC at the Archives?

Thank you.

Downtown Wiliamsport in the 50s and 60s

Whenever I see photos of Williamsport’s former downtown stores, it triggers memories of shopping in great old department stores and small specialty shops when I was a kid.  With the exception of Otto’s, they are all gone now- some of them torn down, others just unrecognizable.  I’d love it if the Geneology Society would put together a photo collage and collection of personal memories of these stores and shops of my youth.

Airgood, Paul

I am looking for information regarding Paul Airgood. I believe he passed away in January of 1889. I’m not sure of his date of birth. I was told he’s buried somewhere in Montoursville. I do know he was a Civil War veteran and his wifes name was Mary Ellen (Way) Airgood.

Search for the Corters (Courters) in the Lycoming Area

Is anyone aware of a genealogy search going on for the Corters and/or the Courters?

James & Jenna Smithers

I am looking for dates of death for James E and Jenna Smithers. They were in Williamsport in the 1910 census and I can’t find either of them in the 1920 census. Jame was born around 1851, and Jenna around 1845. Dates of death and cemetery location would be great.

Thanks!

James McCarty, son of Silas McCarty

Am trying to track down the names of the children of James McCarty, b. 1725, the son of Silas and Sarah Carrell McCarty.  I think he might have had a son named “Ellis”, who, in turn, was the father of Miss (Elizabeth?) McCarty who married Samuel Bryan about 1796.
